Personal time

Over the duration that I will be completing the Valkyrie in university allocated I will be using my spare time to get Bastet up to date. I want her texturing to be finished by the polish week so I can gather crit and alter what needs to be changed whilst still having time to pose and present.

Here is my current progress after one evening of work on the texturing:

Another day working on it during my personal study session and this is what I've got:

I have been trying so hard to get the eyes right and iI' struggling, mostly I think because of the software I'm using and how much it differs. So for example in the substance iray render it doesn't look too bad, but it doesn't have the nicest reflections as i don't have a lot of control over the light sources. But, when i import everything into my marmoset scene all of my roughness is off and my base colours all look slightly off too. Quite frustrating and is the reason why a lot of the times I just render in substance but I know that's a bad habit to get into. I'm not sure whether substance is the correct viewer or if marmoset is, i should probably test the model it in UE4 to find out.

Things to do -

Increase roughness on the face

Add ao/occlusion darkening and variation to head cloth

Make small hair cards for the hair ends

Here is my current progress after a day doing some more texturing and fixing errors etc.

I'm planning on doing a whole beading design down the centre back of the skirt and making some drops of blood to look like this concept:

Almost done! Got a few tweaks to make and things to sort out but almost there.

I'm not very happy with the headress and the tabard at the moment so i'm going to see what I can do to improve them texture wise. But everything else looks ok.

Things I'm going to do/change:

Add blue and purple hues and squiggles to body skin.

Match neck and shoulder unwrap/textures.

Add more roughness variation to certain parts of the body (elbow, knees etc)

Add fabric pattern to rear drape and lighten the colour.

Ensure all fabric has occlusion and edge wear.

Make the hair strands.
